I was inspired last week to arrange an ordinary group of flowers in an unique way. It took me a few times to get it to look right and it wasn’t the easiest of tasks getting each bloom in the vase but I am so happy with the results. Photographing flowers is my all time favorite subject and I’ve been doing it since I picked up a camera. Some day I’ll have to post my flower pics from way back when.

I usually set up my shoot with black and white in mind. I tend to focus more on lines and details in the flowers then the color of them so black and white gets that across much easier then color. If I would keep them in color it would give a completely different mood to the image. I’d love to hear what you think of these, it’s a bit different then what I normally do. Been trying to get out of my comfort zone. ;) Thanks for stopping by today!

* This is my favorite *

Happy Monday Everyone!

I spent all weekend putting up drywall in our basement. It’s really coming along very nicely and my Dad and I are moving right along. For only working on the weekends we doing awesome, at least we think so and that’s all that matters. Ha! I have to thank Ralph for coming and helping us out on Saturday, those drywall sheets are huge and very heavy so it saved me from breaking my back. I had to lift a couple on Sunday and my muscles are so sore but not as bad as it could of been. Thank you Ralph!

So here are some updated photos of our basement. I know it’s nothing special right now but I have a vision of how this basement will look. Here’s a peek…I bought this fireplace to go in the basement and our plasma tv will hang above.

In this photo you see the carpet sample that I looking at. I want it to be a very cozy family room.

I’m standing in the guest bedroom looking toward the family room.

See those wires hanging out of the wall? That is where the fireplace and tv are going to be. ;)

Thanks for stopping by today and check back soon, I have some new fine art images to show you this week!

Have a great day!

…..to a crappy day. We just got home from the best sushi meal we have ever had. Top Notch! If you are ever in Fort Collins, Colorado you must have sushi at Suehiro’s!

Today was just a terrible day, nothing seemed to go right and by the time my husband got home I was all frazzled. We are finishing our basement and right now the carpet part of this adventure is not going smooth. I can’t get the guy to return my phone calls and when I call he’s either not there or with a customer and when I go in he’s not there. I can’t seem to get any information in a timely matter. So after call and after call and plenty of voice mail messages I’ve had it! My last voice mail I left today you could clearly hear in my voice that I was very frustrated. So I go in tomorrow to return the carpet sample and we’ll see how that goes.

We started this remodel about 3 weeks ago and here are some pics of what we have all done. My Dad is a contractor and my parents live in Nebraska so we have only been working on the weekends but we are doing really well. I love doing this kind of stuff so it’s been pretty much my Dad and I building walls and running wire.

This first photo is of my daughter helping us out with her saw. My brother gave her a tool kit for Christmas and she loves them. :) As you can see the walls are not started yet in the background. The house came with the wrap insulation on all the walls…good thing.

That is my husband right behind my daughter and my Mom sitting on the chair.

Just a before pic, you are looking at where the guest bedroom will be.

You are looking in the same direction as the photo above but now there are walls! Yup folks, I help my Dad build these walls. I can run a saw like nobody’s business. Ha ha ha!

Now I am standing in the bedroom and looking back at the family room area.

And this pic is the stairs that come down and that Nook is my future office area. I can’t wait! I have this beautiful dark chocolate stained desk and bought 2 pendant lights to hang above it. It’s going to look awesome…at least in my head it does.

Now I just need to get that carpet figured out. Wish me luck for tomorrow. ;)
