…..to a crappy day. We just got home from the best sushi meal we have ever had. Top Notch! If you are ever in Fort Collins, Colorado you must have sushi at Suehiro’s!
Today was just a terrible day, nothing seemed to go right and by the time my husband got home I was all frazzled. We are finishing our basement and right now the carpet part of this adventure is not going smooth. I can’t get the guy to return my phone calls and when I call he’s either not there or with a customer and when I go in he’s not there. I can’t seem to get any information in a timely matter. So after call and after call and plenty of voice mail messages I’ve had it! My last voice mail I left today you could clearly hear in my voice that I was very frustrated. So I go in tomorrow to return the carpet sample and we’ll see how that goes.
We started this remodel about 3 weeks ago and here are some pics of what we have all done. My Dad is a contractor and my parents live in Nebraska so we have only been working on the weekends but we are doing really well. I love doing this kind of stuff so it’s been pretty much my Dad and I building walls and running wire.
This first photo is of my daughter helping us out with her saw. My brother gave her a tool kit for Christmas and she loves them.
As you can see the walls are not started yet in the background. The house came with the wrap insulation on all the walls…good thing.

That is my husband right behind my daughter and my Mom sitting on the chair.

Just a before pic, you are looking at where the guest bedroom will be.

You are looking in the same direction as the photo above but now there are walls! Yup folks, I help my Dad build these walls. I can run a saw like nobody’s business. Ha ha ha!

Now I am standing in the bedroom and looking back at the family room area.

And this pic is the stairs that come down and that Nook is my future office area. I can’t wait! I have this beautiful dark chocolate stained desk and bought 2 pendant lights to hang above it. It’s going to look awesome…at least in my head it does.

Now I just need to get that carpet figured out. Wish me luck for tomorrow.

I just came across this awesome video on Dane Sanders blog and it ROCKS! Please view it, you’ll get a good laugh. I sure did!
I’m so excited, I’m going to a photography seminar in March! I haven’t been to a seminar in so many years and really looking forward to going. I think this seminar looks like a good one with a lot of great information and it’s so reasonably priced. They are going to be in a lot of cities so go check it out and see if they are coming to a town near you.

We are ready for spring around here. It’s been snowing here in Colorado since 7:30 am! We ventured out in it this morning and watched many cars slide around and heard numerous accident alerts on the radio. I love my Honda Accord for driving so nice on snow! We made our 2 quick stops and came home. Last Friday I had bought a little bouquet of tulips from the grocery store because I am ready for the snow to be done. When I see tulips my spring fever begins! I was unable to get to shooting them due to getting my house in order for my parents to be here, we are finishing our basement! (another post…hee hee) So after we got home from driving in the snow, it was the perfect time and perfect conditions for shooting my tulips. With all that even light coming in through my sliding glass doors I couldn’t resist. My daughter also couldn’t resist getting into my set-up to smell the flowers. They don’t have a scent but she doesn’t care. When she sees blooms she must smell. I am still playing around with the flower shots so here are a few of my girl doing her thing and getting in Mama’s way.

I know this is completely un-photography related but WOW! I just read this on Yahoo! News:
Individuals who pay income taxes would get up to $600, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. Workers who make at least $3,000 but don’t pay taxes would get $300 rebates. The rebates, expected to go out in June, would cost about $100 billion, aides said. The package also includes close to $50 billion in business tax cuts.
I for one say “thank you” for the rebate!

We took my 2 yr old daughter to the Disney Playhouse show and had so much fun. I actually enjoyed it more then I thought that I would. My daughter just loves Mickey, Tigger, and the Little Einsteins. The kids sang, danced, and were just beside themselves when Mickey came out. They all gasped!
Here’s a little pic from the show.

Have a great weekend everyone!

You may not believe this statement but I have never taken a self portrait of myself. I don’t like to have my picture taken. It’s when I start noticing all of the weird things with my features. As you all know, I turned 30 a bit ago and as I was working on our 2007 Family Yearbook and realized I don’t have many photos of me in our family albums. I’m ALWAYS behind the camera. So yesterday I decided to try to take more pics of myself and with my family. The camera does have a timer…duh!
So here are a few that I took yesterday. Now, please be nice with your comments.
