I was inspired last week to arrange an ordinary group of flowers in an unique way. It took me a few times to get it to look right and it wasn’t the easiest of tasks getting each bloom in the vase but I am so happy with the results. Photographing flowers is my all time favorite subject and I’ve been doing it since I picked up a camera. Some day I’ll have to post my flower pics from way back when.
I usually set up my shoot with black and white in mind. I tend to focus more on lines and details in the flowers then the color of them so black and white gets that across much easier then color. If I would keep them in color it would give a completely different mood to the image. I’d love to hear what you think of these, it’s a bit different then what I normally do. Been trying to get out of my comfort zone.
Thanks for stopping by today!

A couple days ago I told you about these tulips that I shot. I’m very happy with how they turned out. Usually when I shoot flowers I like to get in very tight with one bloom, never been very fond of my ‘arrangement’ shots. I love this first shot! I love tulips because they are so unruly. They fall all different ways and no matter how much you fuss with them, they will never be perfect. That’s why I love them! Would love to know what others think of my tulip shots. Thanks for dropping by!

I just won an iTunes Card from Spectrum Photographics from Gering Nebraska.
Yippee! I never win anything so this is so cool. I like to follow this blog because I’m from that area, it’s fun to recognize people they photograph. So yippee for me and some new tunes! The contest was a photo that was zoomed in to a detail and you had to guess what it was. Check out the post with the contest. *BLOG*
Thanks Nate!
