I have in my hands something that I have dreamed about for a very long time.

I am a huge fan of Anne Geddes and my Mom and I have followed her work for many years. I love to purchase her books and when I purchased ‘Miracle’ soon after my daughter was born in 2005, a new found passion and inspiration started to bloom. (maybe that pun was a little intentional… ha!) At that time in my life I was very focused on learning how to be a good mom to my daughter and put my photography on hold. This year, as you’ve seen, my passion for photography can’t be held back anymore and it’s bursting from the seems. Fortunate for me I had a lot of family and friends that were expecting this year and I took advantage of that. I have been able to bring those images of inspiration to life somewhat. I’ve never wanted to copy Anne Geddes but she is a huge inspiration to me. My Miracle book came with a DVD that has the behind the scenes of her shooting for that book with Celine Dion. My daughter and I watched that the other day and I can’t help but cry everytime I see those images and of course the music from Celine fuels those tears.

I found out on Tuesday that Anne Geddes was going to be in Denver for a book signing of her new autobiography, A Labor of Love. Now because being a mom takes priority over me making my husband get off of work early and driving 3 hrs to Denver and back to get a signed book, I begged my Sister-in-Law to do it for me. She did and her fiance delivered my book to me just a little bit ago! My dream…to have a signed book from Anne Geddes and to me! I have been giddy about it since yesterday and I’m so thankful my sis took the time to do it for me. Thank You Steph, you made a dream come true!
