We had a terrible storm last night!

I was sitting at my computer when I looked out the window and saw the clouds rolling so fast and rushing upwards. Grabbed my camera and started shooting. Pretty soon it got darker and darker and I saw a crazy looking cloud hanging right over the homes just north of me, about a block away. Scared me that I didn’t get a shot of it, ran inside and grabbed my husband and daughter and headed to the basement. We are from the Nebraska Panhandle so first thing we think of it tornados. We didn’t even get 10 steps when this wall of rain hit the house, we couldn’t see out our windows. Sitting in the basement we could hear these sounds so I decided to come up and look and our patio furniture has fallen and our brand new, very expensive grill is about to roll off the deck. My husband runs out there to grab it, he wasn’t out there for more then a minute and he was absolutely soaked! The thunder was constant and lightening very bright. Thankfully our internet was still working on our laptop (which didn’t have to be connected to the wall) so I could check the weather stations because our tv was out. Discovered that the Fossil Creek was flooding which is just a mile from us. We live on top of the hill so we weren’t in any danger but we used to live in that area in our townhouse. Crazy weather around here this year! And it was almost exactly 10 years ago when we had our last flood. Weird how that works out, not just an old-wives-tale.

We have bark along the sides of our property and this morning my dear husband had to go get most of it out of our neighbors driveway, sidewalk, and street. We had 3-5 inches fall in 45 minutes last night! Crazy
